Arka Prasann-Ridge gourd variety

Background:
Ridge gourd is a cucurbitaceous crop which can be grown throughout the year where moderate climatic conditions exist. The available local varieties are low yielding and hybrids are late lowering. There is a need to develop early flowering, high yielding open pollinated variety which farmers themselves can produce the seeds.:
Technology Details:
Arka Prasan is very early variety coming to first harvest in 40 days and yields about 12-15t/acre. This being open pollinated variety, farmers can produce their own seeds by following 1KM isolation distance for seed production.
